Australia’s leading furniture company, Sebel Furniture will display the latest innovation in gaming furniture design with its new Queen Gaming Stool at this year’s Australasian Gaming Expo (AGE) to be held in Sydney from August 8 to 10, 2010.

Sebel Furniture’s Queen Gaming Stool exceeds Australian Occupational Health and Safety Standards (OH&S) and will become the benchmark for ergonomic seating in casinos, pubs and clubs.

The new Sebel Queen Gaming Stool has been specially designed to give patrons superior comfort and back support. It also minimises injuries for staff and contributes to the development of furniture safety in Australian workplaces.

According to Safe Work Australia, in 2007-08 there were 7,280 accepted workers’ compensation claims that resulted from injuries due to unsafe furniture.

Ms Krista Murphy, Director of Policy and Strategic Services for Safe Work Australia reports that the estimated cost to Australia’s economy from work-related injuries and illnesses caused by poor furniture and fittings is $160 million per year, dramatically affecting the productivity of Australian club businesses.

“It is very important for club owners to purchase safe furniture since it can be classified as a major component in related workplace injury. Manufacturers like Sebel should be coming up with safer furniture designs,” added Ms Murphy.

The Queen Gaming Stool is practical and ensures quality assurance with its revolutionary glide base and easy lift handle technology. The design makes these gaming stools suitable for clubs with a large number of patrons and staff.

Lighter than any other gaming stool on the market, the easy glide base allows for the stool to slide across gaming floors with only one finger. This lightness reduces the risk in backache and other related injuries to staff and patrons lifting and carrying stools.

The patented handle at the chair’s centre of gravity creates a simple ergonomic solution for ease of manoeuvring around the gaming floor. The chrome handle also provides the option to emboss a logo to personalise the stools.

With lumbar depth and modern design, the Queen Gaming Stool improves the comfort of patrons.

The gaming furniture is available in a wooden veneer or cloth finish with the option for flame-proof fabric.

Chief Executive Officer for Sebel, Mr Greg Welsh said, “We are increasingly finding that pubs, clubs and casinos are looking for furniture with high OH&S standards.

“Our customers can be rest assured that they are receiving a high quality product, which will last them a long time and surpasses all safety standards,” added Mr Welsh.

The Sebel display will be at stand 314 at the Australasian Gaming Expo.
