Mitsubishi Electric Australia introduces a new range of air conditioners featuring R32 refrigerant technology for increased energy efficiency.

Released just in time for the Australian summer, the new MSZ-GL series air conditioners feature built-in innovation to provide fast and exceptionally quiet air conditioning to Australian homes. The use of R32 refrigerant technology additionally improves upon its closest equivalent (R410A) with a third of its global warming potential.

In addition to energy savings, the MSZ-GL series units are some of the quietest indoor units in the industry and are perfect for the bedroom.

Atesh Mani, National Product Manager, Mitsubishi Electric Australia explains that the new R32 refrigerant technology has completely revolutionised their air conditioning offering, delivering benefits for the environment while improving energy efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Designed for user-friendly operation, the new MSZ-GL series features ‘set and forget’ intuitive settings and offers a quiet, expansive airflow.

Key features of the new MSZ-GL series air conditioners also include a weekly timer for convenience and an ‘i-save’ mode to recall pre-set temperature at the press of a button on the remote controller; optional Wi-Fi control connecting the unit to a smartphone, tablet or online account, giving the flexibility to fully control each unit on-the-go via an Internet connection; ‘Blue Fin Condenser’ providing anti-corrosion treatment for the heat exchanger of the outdoor units, particularly useful in coastal areas; and wide and long airflow over a vast horizontal range up to 150 degrees in heating and 100 degrees in cooling and reach as far as 12 metres from the unit.

A demand response enabled interface (DRED) in the unit enables Demand Response Mode to be activated in response to signals sent from the electric power company at times when it is necessary to reduce peak demand, while the quiet mode fan speed setting provides super quiet operation below 19 dB(A) for 2.5 and 3.5 kW models.
