Karndean Designflooring announces the addition of new wood and stone designs to its popular Da Vinci collection of luxury vinyl tiles. Karndean has introduced 14 new wood and 12 new stone designs to the Da Vinci range.

Da Vinci Wood Collection

The new additions to the Da Vinci wood collection include twelve trendy, ‘modern rustic’ designs with two designs inspired by reclaimed driftwood.

Split into two groups, the twelve new planks are heavily influenced by the trend towards reclaimed and repurposed materials in architecture and interior design; the 36” x 3” distressed look planks replicate the unique look that comes from the transformation of wood over time. While the first group has seven designs, including four modern limed planks and three classic oak looks, the second group features three burnt and smoked designs alongside two worn, aged driftwood looks.

Inspired by natural fibres and textiles, the soft muted tones of the four Limed Oak designs are enhanced with a striking lime-washed finish, accentuating the unique grain details of each plank.

The three classic Oak planks feature a more traditional and clean-lined style with the shades ranging from light to mid-brown oak.

The two new Acacia and Scorched Oak planks have been designed to replicate the look of burnt oak with a striking colour variation making each design stand out in the wood collection. While the Acacia designs feature gentle variation, Scorched Oak delivers a statement floor with its almost tiger-like grain and colour variation.

The remaining two designs in this group, Coastal Driftwood and Beach Driftwood capture the gentle sea salt worn features of reclaimed driftwood.

With an option of two soft grey-brown tones, these distinctive rustic designs give specifiers the natural look of reclaimed timber without the practical drawbacks of real wood such as cracking, splintering or warping and ongoing maintenance. Additionally, the slimline design of the planks ensures that even the smallest of spaces can be enhanced.

Da Vinci Stone Collection

The Stone collection brings the natural beauty and intricate textures of real stone indoors, with the distinct 12” x 18” tiles taking inspiration from weathered steel, natural stone and woven fabric in a fresh palette of colours to suit any commercial or residential interior.

The three groups – Weathered Steel, Natural Stone and Woven Fabric – explore the latest trends in interior design including natural weathering, fossilisation and woven fabrics, and reflect Karndean’s unrivalled ability to take products from the natural world and recreate them in luxury vinyl tiles (LVT).

Alex Stock, head of commercial sales at Karndean Designflooring explains that their product designers have captured new detailing and unique contemporary interpretations of real stone with LVT flooring designs that are easy to clean and enduring, without depleting natural resources. He adds that the Da Vinci collection opens up a new specification, enabling them to offer their popular 12” x 18” tile with a 0.7mm wear layer and 3mm thickness.

The Stone collection represents all four colourways – Molten, Iron Ore, Eisen and Carbon, displaying the transformation of weathered steel over time, with the tiles ideally placed against plain walls, exposed brick and simple furnishings for a stark, on-trend industrial feel.

Designed to offer a sophisticated and understated look, the four natural stone designs feature the realistic grain and fossilisation of limestone. Perfect for both residential and commercial specifications, these designs range from the creamy tones of Dune and Bluff to the darker, grainier Sable and Drift.

The final three designs in the collection – Burnet, Cambric and Sindon – challenge the conventional perceptions of stone and offer modern, natural colours with a minimalistic look and subtle strands across each tile. Taking inspiration from natural fabrics and concrete, the designs can be purposely misleading and interpreted as natural woven fabric or lightly brushed concrete.

Introducing additional design variations, the new Da Vinci Stone collection comes with the option of contrasting and complementary borders and design strips.

The complete Karndean Da Vinci collection is available with a 20-year commercial warranty.
