Era Polymers  is a distributor for Dow Corning RTV mould-making silicone rubbers in Australia and New Zealand. They currently have most grades in stock at their Sydney warehouse to ensure they are easily accessible to the local market.

By using silicone rubber products from Dow Corning, moulds of nearly any object can be easily and quickly made in any location.

In it's uncured liquid state, silicone rubber material can be brushed or poured into a mould to replicate original parts, even those with fine and intricate details. After it is cured, the silicone rubber mould can be used to cast materials, such as polyurethanes, plastics, wax, plaster, and low-melt point metals, into replications of the original part.

With self-releasing properties, the surface of the silicone mould allows for easy de-moulding, as well as ensuring the mould has a long life.

Era Polymers have two types of Dow Corning silicone mouldmaking rubbers available:

  • condensation curing - the most popular, generally lower cost with shrinkage rate (~1%)
  • addition curing - premium materials with very low shrinkage rate (~0.1%)
There are also various hardnesses and quality levels available within each type of silicone rubber.
