EIFS jointing compounds have been specifically designed for use in the on-site installation and finishing of polystyrene wall and fencing panels, and are available now from Astec Paints Australasia .
Consisting of a polymer and silicate modified, mineral based adhesive, these jointing compounds can also be used as a skim coat.
These compounds are waterproof, hard and yet flexible, providing greater adhesion to foam surfaces than the cohesive strength of the foam itself.
Supplied in a 20kg paper sack, they are prepared on-site by simply adding clean, fresh water to provide a smooth, high slump paste that requires no additional polymer additives for direct use.
EIFS compounds are suited for use on:
- impact coated foam panels
- polystyrene foam; and
- cast foam.
