Cris Munoz, a construction manager in the Queensland Multiplex business has won the 2019 NAWIC National Crystal Vision Award.

Hailed for her tireless work in providing women the assistance and encouragement they need to advance their careers in the construction industry, since winning the 2018 Queensland Crystal Vision Award, Munoz has used her influence to develop a program that will improve female retention rates and increase the number of women in senior management roles in the industry.

She is also a role model, diversity champion and mentor and is actively involved in advocating for women with numerous associations in the construction industry.

Upon the announcement, Munoz says, “I’m honoured to receive the National Crystal Vision Award and to stand alongside the many talented women that the NAWIC awards recognise across the country. Construction is such a dynamic and exciting industry to work within and I’m passionate about making sure women have access to the opportunities and the support they need to fulfil their career aspirations.”

NAWIC national board member Christina Yiakkoupis says, “Organisations in the construction industry need to be paying attention to incredible women like Cris Munoz. Cris isn't sitting back and accepting the industry as it is with low representation of women, especially in senior management roles, but is instead leading change through positive initiatives.”
