Spantech was contracted to design and install the structural steel and curved roof as part of the Stage 2 upgrade project at the Bundaberg airport terminal in Queensland.

Architect Steve Turner of Sanders Turner Ellick Architects sought to emulate the gently curving roof of the existing building, while avoiding the expense and visual clutter of the external overhead cables and columns used during Stage I of the construction. The project was commissioned by the Bundaberg Regional Council.

Spantech was selected to design and install the structural steel and roof for three new pavilions including a check-in building, departure lounge and baggage reclaim.

Spantech met the aesthetic and functional outcomes sought by the architect, by utilising the Spantech 300 Series panels and curved beams.
