Spantech executed a major maintenance and upgrade project at the explosives depot of Thales Australia in South Australia.
Spantech’s scope of works encompassed the maintenance and upgrade of a number of Spantech 23-metre and 13-metre ESH (explosives storehouses or explosives storage magazines) in addition to a few non-Spantech earth covered buildings (ECB) and a covered loading area.
Highlights of the project included re-profiling earth covers and installing protective linings; removing, sandblasting, painting and servicing all blast doors and components; manufacture and installation of mechanical door openers; upgrade of lightning protection system, electrical and security services; cleaning, treating and painting metallic surfaces; repairing and sealing concrete surfaces; repairing or replacing asphalt aprons; and installation of a pallet racking system.
