SBS Group designed, fabricated and installed several steel framing products for the Knoxia townhouse project in Wantirna South, Victoria.
Designed by iWolff architects and built by L U Simon Builders, the double-storeyed townhouses feature wall, floor joist and roof truss framing fabricated by SBS Group.
The project benefitted immensely from the use of SBS’ light gauge steel framing system. The level of detail originally provided for the timber system was minimal and challenging to understand.
SBS Group took over the redesign using steel, coordinating the entire design process including 3D modelling, shop drawings, layout plans and engineering certification. The straight, true and accurate framing reduced onsite works including straightening, packing out and planing walls after installation.
The prefabricated steel frames allowed for a fast and easy install, positively impacting the project schedule. The project used a total of 18817.3 L/M to cover an area of 450.98 square metres.
