Leading manufacturer of acoustic design products, Knauf has launched a campaign to highlight the importance of great restaurant acoustics. Knauf is a world leader in acoustic ceiling tiles and plasterboard.

Calling on Australian foodies, consumers, architects and designers to help improve the sound quality in Australian restaurants, Knauf’s Dine Hear campaign is encouraging restaurant-goers to nominate a favourite restaurant that, despite its great food and service can sometimes be just that little bit too noisy.

Stephanie Olsen, Knauf’s Senior Product Manager explains that the Dine Hear campaign is about improving the acoustics of great Australian restaurants so that patrons do not have to yell to be heard.

Backed by a series of short videos, the campaign aims to involve multiple sectors of the Australian foodie and design community to help make the case for great restaurant acoustics.

To motivate more consumers to nominate a great restaurant that could be improved with better acoustics, Knauf is offering three iPad minis.

Designers and architects, who nominate a restaurant that would be improved with better acoustics, could receive one of 50 complimentary $200 dinners for two.

Design professionals who submit sketches on how the acoustics could be improved can win the Knauf Dine Hear Acoustic Designer 2013 prize worth $5,000.
