Kennards Hire Pump & Power supplied 250kVA generators that were synchronised in lots of two to provide 500kVA output as part of a temporary power strategy during the widening of the Great Eastern Highway in Perth.
Electrcraft Electrics, which had been contracted by Western Power, hired 11 large generators from Kennards Hire Pump & Power in Perth for one critical weekend when the project could have impacted a few large establishments by causing disruption to normal power supplies.
A BHP Biliton remote management operation and the Assured Ascot Quays Apartment Hotel were among the establishments that could have faced disrupted power supply during the execution of the work. But once the hired generators from Kennards Hire took over, it was business as usual.
According to Edward McCoppin of Electrcraft Electrics, five of the 11 generators supplied by Kennards Hire were 250kVA units. The generators were synchronised in two lots of two to provide 500kVA for a couple of the businesses, eliminating the possibility of any problem.
A specialist provider of temporary power, Electrcraft Electrics has been regularly hiring large generators from Kennards Hire since 2009.
