Kennards Hire supplied a wide range of hired equipment to help Badge Constructions rebuild an Inghams chicken processing plant in Somerville, south-east of Melbourne.

After the processing plant was destroyed by fire in early 2010, Inghams quickly announced plans to rebuild, and Badge completed the project in just seven months.

According to site manager Ben Barclay, Kennards was chosen to supply all the hire equipment with most of it coming from the nearby Frankston hire centre. Kennards was able to meet the equipment needs of the project promptly in spite of the tight deadline.

Kennards Frankston hired out 23 scissor lifts for the project ranging from 5.8m electric units to diesel-powered 9.9m medium rough terrain machines.

The equipment also included boom lifts, generators, vibrators, demolition saws, concrete saws, wet vacs, roof safety harness kits, tarpaulins and lighting towers.

Kennards operates more than 100 general and specialist equipment hire centres across Australia, including a new outlet in Launceston, the first of a planned network of branches in Tasmania.
