Maintaining a high standard of presentation and production efficiency is critical to running a successful business, and when McGrath Holden Liverpool were looking to refurbish their workshop floor they turned to Flowcrete Australia Pty Ltd .

The dealership is part of Automotive Holdings Group, Australia’s largest vehicle retailer.

McGrath Holden Liverpool is a high quality dealership reflecting AHG’s and Holden’s high standards. It requires a hard-wearing, easy to clean floor coating that will stand up to the rigours of a busy mechanical workshop.

Flowcrete were approached to lay a sample of their hard-wearing, epoxy resin system, Flowcoat SF41, underneath the heaviest hoist locations. After six months of evaluation, the client was happy with the product’s performance and approved the system for use in the workshop.

The existing flooring underwent a high pressure blast of hot water at 3000psi to extrude grease and oil contaminants, followed by a full coarse diamond grind of the concrete. Four coats of Flowcrete Australia’s Flowcoat SF41 were then applied. Finally, the works were completed with line marking to delineate working and driving zones, resulting in a safer environment.

The project was carried out over a long weekend to minimise the disruption to service. The full 1000m² installation of Flowcoat SF41 is fully UV stable, slip resistant and delivers good light reflectivity, improving working conditions for McGrath Holden Liverpool’s team of technicians.
