FLIR Systems has introduced a new digital multimeter with a built-in thermal imager to their test and measurement range.

The new FLIR DM284 is an all-in-one digital multimeter featuring a built-in thermal imager powered by FLIR’s Lepton thermal micro-camera core. The DM284 also features FLIR’s Infrared Guided Measurement (IGM) technology that helps guide professionals to potential problems by clearly visualising temperature differences.

The DM284 combines an 18-function industrial True RMS digital multimeter with FLIR’s ground-breaking IGM technology that helps the instrument guide electrical professionals to the precise location of temperature anomalies and potential problems without requiring any direct contact with the test site. Once an issue is observed using IGM, the DM284’s current, voltage and other advanced functions can be used to accurately diagnose equipment problems.

FLIR President and CEO Andy Teich says FLIR’s advanced DM284 digital multimeter with IGM gives users the power to inspect, identify, and avoid major electrical issues like never before. He adds that FLIR’s IGM product family has been expanded to offer electricians a broad set of tools to more efficiently and effectively troubleshoot issues.

Joining several products in the FLIR IGM family including the CM174 clamp meter, the MR176 moisture meter and the TG165 spot thermal camera among others, the FLIR DM284 will be available later this year through FLIR distributors.
