    DIA VIC-TAS branch elects new leadership team

    The Design Institute of Australia (DIA) Victoria Tasmania Branch has elected a new leadership team for 2014-2015 at the Annual General Meeting held recently at the DIA Design Gallery in Melbourne.

    A new Executive team and three new Councillors have come on board to join the eight existing councillors and an Events and Marketing team.

    The new leadership team for DIA Victoria Tasmania Branch includes Claire Beale MDIA, President, National Director & Textile Design Practice Group Coordinator; Valerie Mack MDIA; Vice President, National Councillor & Commercial Interiors Practice Group Coordinator; Michael Chijoff MDIA, Treasurer & Industrial Design Practice Group Coordinator; Dominic Russo FDIA, Immediate Past President & National Councillor; and James Harper FDIA, National President & National Councillor.

    Members of the new 2014-15 team also include Luca Abate MDIA, Industrial Design Liaison; Martin Lilford MDIA, Exhibition & Furniture Design Liaison; Danielle Scandrett MDIA, Interior Decoration Practice Group Coordinator; Raffaela Arena-Cairney, Product Design Tour Coordinator; Daniella Casamento, Site Design Tour Coordinator & Communications; Daniel Dalla Riva FDIA, Exhibition Design Liaison; Jan Henry-Jones, Design Education Practice Group Coordinator & Graphic Design Liaison; Xisca Mairata, Emerging Designers President & Experience Design Liaison; Kirsty Máté, Tasmania Liaison & Design Education Liaison; Polina Radchenko, Practice Group Round Table Coordinator; and Ian Wong FDIA, Government Liaison & China Representative.

    The Marketing & Events team comprises of Caroline Caneva, Marketing & Events Coordinator; Marina Wilson, Marketing & Events Intern; and Simon Westwood, Marketing & Events Intern.

    DIA Victoria Tasmania promotes the value of professional design and designers to industry, business, government and the community through its State Branches. The Victoria Tasmania Branch focuses on the needs and interests of local designers, running a range of activities including seminars, awards programs and networking opportunities, varying from design discipline-specific to multi-disciplinary audiences.
