WA winners of the 2005 Case Earth Awards have been commended for the way they have ensured community involvement, engagement and consultation.

Whether dealing with traffic congestion, groundwater contamination or the threat of floods, the winning entrants went to great lengths to use local skills and knowledge to produce outstanding results.

Among the winning entries were a project that turned a former liquid waste dump into a community space, a huge transport infrastructure initiative that helped restore some of the state’s beaches and the installation of new floodgates on one of the world’s most delicate wetlands.
