Against a background of soaring temperatures and extreme fire danger, Australian Pump Industries has launched a version of the popular Aussie Fire Chief pump powered by a Vanguard 6HP petrol engine. The additional horse power available from the Vanguard provides flows of up to 500 litres per minute and heads of up to 80 metres.

“The Fire Chief is widely regarded as the best self priming, lightweight fire fighting pump of it’s kind in the world,” Aussie Pumps Product Manager, John Whiteley says. “Teaming it with the big Vanguard engine means extra power and extra performance.”

The single impeller Aussie Fire Chief has superb balanced components and computer assisted design. The “Chief” also offers users features not found on other pumps. These include heavy duty steel skids and anti-vibration mounts as standard equipment. The pump also comes with a convenient, ergonomic designed handle for ease of movement.

The pump’s impeller is a big one piece, seven inch diameter design with large open vanes to pump small solids in suspension. It’s those wide vanes that also give the pump more flow at high pressure.

Australian Pump Industries claim that the new Vanguard version will provide a low cost, but super effective configuration of the popular Fire Chief that will appeal to many consumers in both domestic and agricultural applications.
