    The application of Foamular extruded polystyrene insulation in Green Roof garden systems was the highlight topic at a seminar presented to the Australian Institute of Architects, Newcastle branch, in February 2011.

    Mike Nagle, Foamular Product Manager, imparted his knowledge about the environmental benefits of green roofs by using Foamular extruded polystyrene insulation material to guarantee maximum energy efficiency in the structure of Green Roof Gardens.

    Glen Spicer, the Chairman of the Newcastle Division, Australian Institute of Architects, was impressed with the information provided on Foamular and insulation. “Mike provided an excellent presentation at the New Technologies in Building Products Seminar. It was very informative and provided both good background information on the Insulation industry as well as on specific Austech insulation products,” he said.

    In the last decade Australia has seen an increase in popularity when it comes to green roofs, and leading business groups and Australian wide city councils have been actively endorsing the benefits of green roofs since 2008. Green roofs not only offer environmental advantages but are also architecturally attractive and captivating.
