Award-winning Into the Blue project features Euromir acrylic sheets

    Allplastics Engineering

Allplastics Engineering supplied the coloured Anthracite Acrylic Euromir sheets used by Designcraft for Blue Mountains City Council’s Into the Blue project.

Allplastics’ Euromir is a high quality European grade acrylic mirror featuring a unique design and display element, making it suitable for diverse applications. Available in a range of colours with a tough durable back coating, Euromir acrylic mirror is more economical, and easier and safer to handle than glass for simpler and faster installation.

Euromir acrylic mirror has been used by Designcraft in the Into the Blue project to clad all the elements on the floor, the plinths and tall structures to reflect the video projections.

The Into the Blue project invites the viewer into the natural and cultural landscape at the greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area through immersive film and soundscapes. Designed by Freeman Ryan Design, which has a well established reputation for creating exhibitions and cultural experiences in Australia and overseas, Into the Blue project was given a High Commendation at the 2013 Australian Interior Design Awards in the Installation Design category.

Euromir acrylic mirror sheets offer several advantages, beginning with their lightweight and reflective properties that provide designers and architects with a wide scope for interior applications. Euromir is an ideal material for applications and venues where glass mirror is not safe to use due to risk of breakages or difficulty of handling.

Key benefits of Euromir acrylic mirror include excellent shatter resistance, highly tough back coating, ability to be cut on site, and greater safety than glass.

Euromir acrylic mirror is suitable in applications at child care centres, dance studio walls, food service facilities, panels in night clubs and casinos, POS and cosmetic displays, slat and decorative walls, store design and fit outs, ceilings, furniture cladding, visual merchandising and theme parks.

Euromir acrylic mirror measures 3000mm x 2000mm and comes in a standard thickness of 3mm.
