Architectus has made two new appointments to its national Interior Architecture team, with Stirling Fletcher joining as a Senior Associate, and Sara-Jane Bacon to Associate.
The practice hopes the strategic appointments will strengthen Architectus’ Interior Architecture and Workplace design capabilities and will be instrumental in the firm’s delivery of design excellence nationally and within the local Perth and Sydney markets.
Architectus Principal & National Sector Leader, Interior Architecture, Simone Oliver, says the acquisition of Fletcher and Bacon will account for the ever-changing nature of the interior design sphere.
“Interior Design continues to become increasingly influenced by a rapidly changing world, that is leading to a new dawn in how all people work, live and play,” she says.
“With this in mind, it’s never been more important to have the best and brightest team of designers working collaboratively across our studios to shape new experiences through space for our clients, and we’re delighted to welcome both Stirling and Sara-Jane to the team.”
Fletcher held an Associate Principal position at Woods Bagot in Perth and prior to that was the Regional Leader of Geyer Perth. He has worked as a design consultant on many city-shaping projects in the Perth CBD including KPMG, PNG Bank, VGW and Quadrant Energy, in addition to global projects with South32 and BHP.
In his new role as Senior Associate at Architectus, Fletcher will work closely with landlords, tenants, and user groups to develop the next generation of innovative and transformative workplaces. Based in Architectus’ Perth studio, he says he is looking forward to taking the next step in an already illustrious career.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Architectus and working at a practice that has a strong national presence and ground-breaking emerging workplace projects. I’m also looking forward to leveraging my established industry knowledge in Perth to continue shaping the design of next-generation workplaces in the city.
“My expertise with the strategic aspects of workplace projects, from engagement, project delivery, navigating the complexities of workplace design to the disruption of traditional design thinking, will allow me to be at the forefront of the city’s workplace evolution with the Architectus team.”
At Architectus’ Sydney Studio, Sara-Jane Bacon will play an integral role in the delivery of a major integrated workplace project. She was previously an Associate at Bates Smart’s Sydney Studio, where she led a team of interior designers on Nine Entertainment Co’s new North Sydney offices and Brookfield Properties’ new workplace at the recently completed Brookfield Place Sydney.
While working in the UK, Bacon was Design Manager for Estee Lauder Companies Inc. As an expert in the delivery of specialist workplaces and installations, Sara-Jane was responsible for the design and implementation of a vast array of employee training facilities, studios and beauty salons at the conglomerate’s new London headquarters. Bacon says she is excited to get started in her new role in the harbour city.
“My passion for design is grounded in the connections formed with people that allow for greater understanding of what they want to feel and how they interact within a space. I’m excited to join Architectus’ Interior Architecture team and deliver a major workplace project in Sydney that will shape the workplace experience of thousands of employees now and into the future.”
