Nominations for the Green Building Council of Australia’s (GBCA) 2015 Future Green Leader Award have opened, and emerging leaders with creative ideas and a commitment to building a sustainable property and construction industry are invited to apply.

Launched in 2014, the Award seeks to recognise and reward the “rising stars” of the industry who have the potential to make a real impact. The winner will receive a one year VIP pass to unlimited GBCA events, courses, site tours and online learning; a speaking spot at Green Building Day 2016; and three mentoring sessions with an industry leader.

Last year’s winner, Rory Martin, National Sustainability Manager with dwp|suters (pictured left), says that winning the award helped to further his career.

“I’ve been able to meet with industry leaders in sustainability, and have been guided by an exceptional mentor who has given me the confidence to push my career to even greater heights,” Martin says.

“It’s vitally important that senior leaders support and develop the next generation of leaders – as each and every one is a green leader in the making. The Future Green Leader program has been a fantastic opportunity for me – and it can be for other up-and-coming sustainability specialists across the industry.”
