A funky 15-storey apartment tower, by aLL Design’s Will Alsop, will be elevated above an existing building on London’s south bank using purple stilts.

Named ‘Heliport Heights’ after its views of a neighbouring heliport, the tubular tower will accommodate 14 apartments, 13 of which will occupy one floor plate each.

The top floor comprises of a penthouse duplex and large roof terrace.

The building, which tapers at the top and bottom, will be clad in weathered corten steel and feature irregular shaped windows and multicoloured balconies.

Held up by supporting stilts, the tower sits above an existing four-storey building, which will be renovated to provide space for resident parking.

A small gallery will be located on the ground floor and feature large glass display windows and a video projection wall.

Suspended above the gallery, on the second floor, is a polished stainless steel pod that will serve as a conference room and reflect the streetscape below.
