The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) is seeking expressions of interest for the role of creative director for the 2018 International Festival of Landscape Architecture. Submissions are being sought from individuals, practices, schools of landscape architecture, and collaborative teams.

The chosen group or individual will be responsible for developing the content and theme of the 2018 event, to be held on the Gold Coast in October 2018. The new creative director(s) will be additionally be responsible for the curation of the conference program.

The festival was originally initiated as a forum of engagement for landscape architects, students, universities, the community and the government. Events within the program include the National Landscape Architecture Awards Presentation, the AILA Annual General Meeting, National Council and State Presidents meeting, a student program, public talks, tours and exhibitions.

The call for creative directors for the 2018 festival comes immediately prior to the commencement of this year’s AILA program, which will take place in Sydney from 12 to 15 October 2017.
