The NSW Government has invited organisations, businesses and practitioners to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) to hold creative industry events for the annual Vivid Sydney event.

According to Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism and Major Events, Andrew Stoner, the latest initiative by the NSW Government aims to help shape the program for Asia Pacific’s annual celebration of innovation, creativity and community, Vivid Ideas. Creative industry stakeholders are invited to share their knowledge, innovative ideas and expertise as part of the 2015 Vivid Ideas program.

He explains that Vivid Sydney is a vital aspect of the NSW Government’s commitment to supporting their creative industries, with Vivid Ideas providing a platform for creative industry professionals to connect with global leaders to foster their creative drive and seek out business opportunities.

The 18-day Vivid Sydney festival in 2014 was attended by over 1.43 million people. Vivid Ideas Curator Jess Scully inspired and educated around 34,000 people through more than 200 sessions.

Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase observes that Vivid Sydney’s Ideas program provides a unique platform for creative industry practitioners from around the world to come together in Sydney to network, share ideas and do business.

She adds that Destination NSW is working to build on the record success of this year’s Vivid Sydney and therefore urges practitioners from global creative industries to join Vivid Ideas.

The Southern Hemisphere’s largest festival of light, music and ideas, Vivid Sydney will illuminate Sydney again from 22 May to 8 June 2015. Vivid Sydney was recently awarded Best Special Event at the 2014 Helpmann Awards and has previously won Australian Event of the Year for the 2013 festival.

The closing date to submit Expressions of Interest to participate in Vivid Ideas 2015 is Wednesday, 15 October 2014. The call for Expressions of Interest for Vivid Light 2015 is open until Friday, 3 October 2014.
