Ms Priyanka Rao, the CEO of a leading Sydney-based contract furniture manufacturing company has joined the Board of the Australian Furniture Association.

Making the announcement, Australian Furniture Association (AFA) Chair, Ms Brooke Winter said Ms Rao’s appointment reflected the strategic approach to AFA Board’s expansion.

Ms Rao heads the Luxmy Group of companies, encompassing brands such as Luxmy Furniture, Woodmark and Evolvex. A family run and independently owned Australian Company established in 1997, Luxmy Furniture is a contract commercial furniture manufacturing enterprise based in Sydney.

Ms Rao, an MBA, has trained in architecture and has a strong background in both Human Resources and Consumer Marketing. Part of the Smart Company 30 under 30 List for two consecutive years, she has also been featured in BRW as one of the top five entrepreneurs to watch.

According to Ms Winter, Ms Rao’s appointment as Director adds value to the Board’s knowledge base and will help AFA lead the Australian furniture design and manufacturing community into a prosperous future.

The Australian Furniture Association Board also includes Directors Mr Simon Bowler, Mr Joe Stillitano, Mr Josh Topelberg and Mr Peter Grey.
