FDC Construction & Fitout was commissioned by global health club group Fitness First to build their flagship premises in Melbourne.
One of the largest privately owned health club groups in the world with a 1-million membership base, Fitness First sought to create a flagship premises in Melbourne as part of an ongoing expansion plan programme.
Located on the famous Flinders Street, in the heart of the CBD, the $7m development has been designed as a world class gym with stunning facilities including a dedicated hot yoga room, along with studios for group exercise, boxing and a bike cycling area. All studios are also equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including hearing augmentation and audio visual components to make workouts as fun and interactive as possible.
FDC Construction & Fitout was entrusted with the construction of the Flinders Street site. Having worked on numerous projects within the sports and recreational fields, FDC understood the importance of the facility being developed to the highest standards while remaining on time and within budget.
According to Ben Cottle, Managing Director at FDC, the stunning results were made possible through the coordination of several parties, along with the FDC installation team. As Fitness First’s flagship premises and the start of the company’s $40m expansion plans, the gym represented the core values of excellence that underpin the Fitness First ethos. FDC’s duty was to ensure quality control, safety and completion of a superb build on-time and on-budget.
