The DEN Furniture + Design Fair will showcase the latest collections of the best Australian and international furniture, lighting, textile and interior brands. DEN has appointed a new expert advisory board to assist with exhibitor selection as well as the overall creative execution of the design show.

Comprising of some of the most recognised design influencers in the country, the advisory board is playing a crucial role in ensuring the success of the DEN design exhibition, being held in Melbourne in May.

Barbara and John Hermon, Founders and Directors of Hermon & Hermon

Barbara and John Hermon founded their retail store Hermon & Hermon 25 years ago. The couple has now decided to close the doors of the highly successful retail store in Swan Street, Richmond to focus on their commercial entity.

Richard Munao, Founder and Director of Cult Furniture

One of Australia’s most successful furniture design curators, Richard Munao also owns Corporate Culture and sister brand Cult. Richard joins the advisory board as a master storyteller able to share insights into the masterminds behind some of the design industry’s most iconic pieces.

Fleur Sibbel and Wilhelmina McCarroll, Founders and Directors of Zuster Furniture

The daughters of Melbourne craftsman and homebuilder, Meyer Sibbel, the two sisters have inherited a legacy of European style and impeccable craftsmanship. The 20-year-old Zuster Furniture run by the sisters is renowned for creating handmade, bespoke, contemporary European wooden furniture for both residential and commercial clients.

Miriam Fanning, Founder and Director of Mim Design

Mim Design founder Miriam Fanning has over 20 years of experience as an interior designer with a strong reputation in the design industry. Drawing inspiration from the surrounding environments to ensure each project is well considered, crafted and designed for a reason, Miriam has been involved in a range of projects from residential through to hospitality, hotel, retail and large-scale retail.

Gordon Tait, Founder and Director of Tait

Scotland-born Gordon Tait immigrated with his family to Sydney in 1968 where he lived for 20 years before relocating to Melbourne. A long-standing passion for furniture design motivated Gordon to enter the Melbourne Fringe Furniture Exhibition and eventually establish his manufacturing and cutting-edge design house TAIT with partner Susan.

Anton Assaad, Founder and Director of Great Dane Furniture

The grandson of a designer who handcrafted furniture inspired by mid-century design, Anton Assaad founded Great Dane, a furniture emporium focussed on Scandinavian design and renowned for bringing exclusive Nordic furniture, lighting and accessories to Australian homes.

DEN Furniture + Design Fair

The brainchild of Thibaud Cau-Cecile, the founder of Life Instyle, DEN Furniture and Design is a three-day design show committed to showcasing the very best in contemporary furniture, lighting, soft furnishings and homewares from local and international design talent.

DEN will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 14 to May 16 as part of the 2015 Design Matters: Melbourne International Design Week. Registration is now open.
