Leading industry group Australian Window Association (AWA) will present
information sessions on the latest requirements for windows and glazing at the
upcoming R+T Australia 2014 exhibition in Melbourne.
These sessions will be presented as part of the ExpeR+T Area seminar
program, which is aligned with the exhibition.
To be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 21 August
to 23 August, R+T Australia 2014 will showcase a wide range of external
building systems such as roller shutters, awnings, doors and gates, windows,
and sun protection systems.
AWA’s sessions will cover information about compliance with the latest
version of the National Construction Code, including structural requirements,
energy efficiency requirements, and Australian standards for windows and
glazing.
AWA Marketing & Communications Manager Gary Smith said the
organisation looked forward to connecting with both visitors and exhibitors at
the exhibition. Observing that there has been increasing emphasis over the last
10 years on the part played by windows and fenestration systems in terms of
comfort and environmental sustainability of buildings, he said that R+T
Australia was the first exhibition in Australia to focus on this segment as
other shows till date have all tended to be far more broad-based.
On its part, AWA has been organising tours for its members to the R+T
shows in China and Germany over the past few years to study overseas
developments in windows.
Entry to R+T Australia 2014 is free for all
building industry professionals, and registration is now open.
