The Design Institute Of Australia (DIA) recently announced the winners of the 2014 Australasian Graduate of the Year Awards (AGOTYA) in Sydney.

The AGOTYA is an annual awards programme organised by DIA to recognise emerging designers across six design categories. Hotly contested each year by graduate designers from Australia and New Zealand, this year’s finalists group consisted of 24 Australasian winners of state-based GOTYA awards.

The top prize, the 2014 AGOTYA Award for Excellence went to Andrew Godin of Monash University, who also won first prize in the Object Design category. Andrew was honoured for his outstanding portfolio of work, described by the judges as ‘demonstrating an extraordinary level of identifying solutions for everyday use’. Andrew’s standout ‘Project Oasis’ was based on the concept of delivering ‘food from the farm to the fork’.
