Suters Architects has announced it is expanding with the appointment of three new team members in its Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne studios.

The new appointments are Stephen Pearse, Jane Sorby and Amanda York.

Suters' CEO Leone Lorrimer said the appointments will help to build on the practice’s capabilities in workplace design.

“As technology changes work practices, Australian workplace design frequently sets the benchmark globally,” she said.

At Suters we always aim to be ahead of the curve through research and strategic thinking. Stephen, Jane and Amanda enhance our national capability through their innovative thinking, solid experience and strong client relationships in commercial architecture and workplace design.”

Stephen Pearse has joined the practice as National Commercial Sector Leader. Pearse has 35 years of experience in urban design and public building projects across Australia and internationally.

Pearse’s focus on quality urban design and architectural solutions has resulted in him winning many design competitions and awards for his projects. Based in Sydney, he will oversee Suters’ commercial projects nationally.

“I am looking forward to developing innovative and sustainable solutions with the very established and awarded team at Suters.

“Our business communities are facing continuing pressure to reduce costs, retain good staff and build strong community relationships, all of which need to be considered when we develop workplace architecture. Imagining and designing for our future is a very invigorating and essential part of what we are doing here at Suters,” Pearse said.

Interior designer Jane Sorby joined the practice as Interiors Sector Leader in Brisbane.

Suters and I share a strong background in workplace and higher education facility design and will work towards continuing our innovative approach together,” Sorby said.

Amanda York has joined the Suters Melbourne office as Senior Interior Designer. Suters says she brings a high level of workplace design experience, having worked in different locations throughout Australia for many well respected Architectural firms.

“I am particularly interested in how the built environment can shape and reinforce an organisations brand values and have enjoyed the challenge of continually delivering innovative design solutions, unique to each client.
