This is the second year of the INDE.awards, and to say the that the industry buzz around this year’s awards has been slowly but surely growing to a crescendo of anticipation and expectation would be an understatement.

Over 400 incredibly diverse, unique and fascinating projects, people, products and ideas from all over Asia Pacific have been submitted for the 2018 INDE.Awards, a fact that has been recognised by many in the industry as being nothing short of amazing.

"It's pretty incredible that it was only last year when we held the very first INDE.Awards. Now we are into year two and the awards have grown in breadth and reach," says Raj Nandan, chairman and publisher, Indesign Media Asia Pacific.

“In particular, we are pleased to have had an increase in entry numbers from Asia this year – especially from Indonesia, an important neighbour to both Australia and Singapore. Entries from Singapore also increased substantially, and with this year’s Gala being held there, we’re anticipating a valuable opportunity for exchange and networking among the region’s design leaders.”

"We’re really proud of the excitement that we’re hearing in our correspondence with architects and designers all around the Asia Pacific region in the lead up to this year’s awards," says Narelle Yabuka, editor, Cubes and Indesignlive.sg and INDE.Awards 2018 program manager.

"This year’s Shortlist contains a broad range of narratives that are telling of the huge diversity in our regional contexts. There’s a lot to tease out from this year’s Shortlist, and much to reflect on in a collective discussion. We look forward to sharing these stories with our readers in the months ahead.”

“The INDE.Awards both recognise and draw attention to the remarkably high quality of design in our region,” says INDE.Awards 2018 judge Paul McGillick.
