Carter Holt Harvey has released the newest version of designIT software. The software has been created for build ing practitioners to design more economical floor, wall and roof member layouts. Upgrades include:
• beam sizing grouped in floor, wall and roofing applications
• stud design, including design of notched studs
• tie-down connections
• snow loading calculation
• increased design options for a range of building materials
designIT was originally created for design with hySpan LVL and hyJoist engineered I-joists, with later versions incorporating other selected materials for houses and similar structures. It can be used for the selection of beam sizes without the need for engineering knowledge, whilst also providing complex load bearer and joist calculators.
