The Tadpole multi-purpose first stage filter for installation in rainwater collection and storage plumbing systems is the latest release through the Silvan H2O division of Silvan Australia.

The filter is designed for the filtering out of the debris which frequently collects on roof tops or clogs the downpipes. It is a heavy-duty precision moulded plastic filter with a compact profile and is designed for installation in circuit with conventional 90 mm plastic downpipes.

It has a dual stainless steel mesh filter assembly of 5 mm and 0.9 mm diameter screens housed in a closed casing which is easily accessible for cleaning and removal of the debris collected. The design of the Tadpole also includes a backflow outlet which will prevent water backing up in the downpipe if the filter chamber becomes clogged.

"With all the attention on water borne infection all property owners need to review and have installed an effective first stage constant filtration system. The Tadpole can be easily removed for cleaning or inspection and with its slim profile fits unobtrusively against a wall or similar backdrop," says Peter Smith, Silvan H2O's general manager.
