Comcork Tactiles from Safety Floorings are raised-profile tiles which provide the visually impaired with warning of impending hazards or to give directional guidance.

Tactile ground surface indicators are required under the Australian Building Code to assist visually impaired people to safely traverse publicly accessed areas.

"safety Flooring Tactiles are specified extensively throughout some of NSW's busiest passenger terminals and public centres including Sydney Airport, railway pedestrian crossings and schools," says Loretta Pearson, director of Safety Flooring.

Made from a combination of recycled cork and rubber, the Tactiles are suitable for both internal and external applications. Key features include anti-slip technology, durability and UV resistance.

They are also available in six colour options ensuring the required 30 per cent variance in colour luminance for directional guidance is achieved, and in both Hazard and Directional profiles.
