Mirvac has spent more than $1 million creating an ‘virtual experience centre’ for its new $300 million Foreshore Hamilton housing development in Queensland.

Interactive touch-screen technology is used to enable prospective buyers to ‘walk through’ their preferred apartment, look at aspects from different levels, and get what the company claims is a highly realistic sense of how the apartment will look, the size of the individual rooms and the standard , look and feel of the finishes.

Touch screen technology is used to allow people to view digital renders of the finishes for bathrooms and kitchens in the various apartment schemes.

Animations are interfaced with a projector that displays them on a wall, in order to create ‘a life like feel of everything from views to what the interiors of the apartments are like’

Mirvac’s Queensland CEO Matthew Wallace said Mirvac had adopted ‘smart apartment design’ techniques at the new development.

“We have re-thought the whole concept of apartment living and by creating two fully furnished display apartments within the experience centre we can demonstrate to both end users and investors alike just how functional and practical these apartments really are,” he said.

“It is all about a smart product and a smart marketing environment adding up to a smart investment or lifestyle choice. End users and investors alike will benefit from this technology and gain a true appreciation of the attention to detail and innovative thinking that has gone into Foreshore Hamilton at the planning and design level.”

Mirvac’s in house architectural division, Mirvac Design, is using the type of technology it has created at Foreshore Hamilton in experience centres nationally.

Wallace said that for the first time Mirvac commissioned the construction of their ‘experience centre’ off-site and then had it transported to site and assembled over a period of days.

The five individual modules were transported from a factory at Yatala.

“By constructing it under factory conditions and injecting this state-of-the-art technology into the final fit out we have created something truly unique for Foreshore Hamilton,” he said.

“It is by far the most technologically advanced experience or sales centre we have ever created in Queensland.”

The $300 million Foreshore Hamilton development will ultimately comprise three multi-level buildings with a total of 582 residential apartments, situated six kilometres from the CBD in the Northshore Hamilton Urban Development Area.
