The new landmark on the North Sydney horizon is the Kolling Research and Education Building addition to the Royal North Shore Hospital's campus.
Austral Bricks Terraçade TL™ terracotta façade system in the colour Derwent adds dimensions and texture to the full height of the building's eastern and western façades, dramatically bookending the 12-storey building.
Adding highlight to the eastern elevation is a broad band of Terraçade XP™ in the colour Kimberley Linear, accented with bands of Bunbury Linear.
Sealing the deal were Terraçade's low maintenance needs and long-term weathering potential. "You know how a kiln-fired product (such as bricks and Terraçade) is going to weather. We don't anticipate having to send people out to clean it," Chris explained.
Nick Demetriou, site manager - Bovis Lend Lease, was impressed with the Terraçade systems. "The set-out is critical, but attaching the tiles is fast and easy. I think the system is great. It is a very neat installation".
