The Property Industry Foundation (PIF) charity will host a charity auction in association with major city-based real estate firms to raise awareness and funds for 36,000 homeless children.

The auction will be held May 19 at the City Auction Centre, Harrington Street, Sydney and participating agents and companies will contribute part of the auction registration fees to PIF.

CB Richard Ellis, Cushman & Wakefield, Colliers International and Jones Lang LaSalle will join together to auction more than 60 properties.

“The event is a new initiative for PIF and provides an easy way for companies to donate money while going about their day-to-day business. We are grateful for the support from big businesses who have helped make this happen,” says Rosemary Smithson, CEO of the Property Industry Foundation.

PIF is aiming to raise over $10,000 from the inaugural event and proceeds from the auction will go towards a Barnados building project in Penrith.

“We hope that the event will become part of PIF’s annual calendar of events. PIF is always looking for new ways to encourage the industry to donate funds to disadvantaged children and we think this innovative event will prove to be a success,” Smithson says.

Since PIF’s inception in 1996, more than $12 million has been raised for a range of PIF-approved charities through its core fundraising activities.

These activities include annual fundraising events such as the Yachting Regatta, National Hard Hat Day and Charity Car Rally Challenge. Visit www.pif.com.au for further information.
