Named after a former teacher, the St Kevin's College Godfrey Building physically connects with the two buildings it sits between to expand the functions of the existing Library, Auditorium and Art School.

The Godfrey Building also contains three new classrooms, a house locker area and serves administration functions, including a careers centre, counseling area and senior staff offices.

Many ESD principles incorporated into the building create an important educational tool for the students, such as:

- exposed concrete throughout make apparent the thermal mass properties of the structure

- concrete ceilings assist with the thermal transfer whilst being free from mechanical ducts (a purging system reverses the process after hours)

- pin boards made from recycled product used for acoustic absorption

The flooring incorporated Ontera EarthPlus reused carpet tiles that were originally installed in the State Law Building in Brisbane in 1994.

EarthPlus is an environmental program which provides an option to reuse any used Ontera carpet tiles without any destructive processes or measurable additional energy input. The program allows for multiple solutions, depending on the condition of the used tiles.

Architects Baldasso Cortese developed a custom pattern for the carpet tiles which is also repeated on pin boards and window graphics.
