Archi Team is organising their inaugural workshop on regulations and the newly updated National Construction Code later this month in Melbourne.

The half-day CPD workshop on ‘Regulations’ will be split into two sessions with participants also getting a chance to network with peers over lunch. The workshop will begin with a talk on the National Construction Code: Prescriptive Vs Performance. Attendees will be divided into smaller groups to take a closer look at specific areas of regulations.

The second session of the workshop will showcase architects achieving inspired design results by integrating considered responses to regulations.

Regulations and Hospitality

Having successfully delivered a number of hospitality projects including The Boat Builders Yard, The General Assembly and Top Paddock, Michael Frazzetto from Six Degrees will examine the incorporation of complex regulations in a hospitality setting to achieve high level design solutions.

Regulations and Bushfire

Marika Neustupny from award-winning architects NMBW and Barbara Moje from Barbara Moje Architects will each present a case study, focusing on navigating bushfire regulations to create modern and exciting residential design.

Regulations and Disability

Mary Ann Jackson from Visionary Design Development, an experienced architect and access consultant, will provide an overview of embracing the design challenge of working with disability.

Vincent McDonald from Vincent McDonald Architect has extensive experience designing for people of different abilities and will present a case study focusing on creating thoughtful and interconnected access in a public space.

Attendees of the workshop will earn 3 CPD formal points.

The workshop will be held on Friday 27 May 2016 from 9.30am to 1.30pm at Abbotsford Convent, Melbourne.
