Keeping with the times, The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) has launched a new membership campaign which aims to entice new members and re-engage past members through social media.

#AreYouReady, is a nod to the changes which have occurred at AILA over the past twelve months, which has seen the Institute reinvented as a forward thinking and influential body in the public domain.

“AILA has experienced tremendous growth over the past twelve months,” said Mark Frisby, AILA National President.

“Membership has increased by an astounding 68% since February 2014. This result is directly related to the remarkable changes that have occurred at AILA.

“We have established twelve member-driven national committees to help shape the new AILA. We have lodged eleven government submissions to improve design for the public realm. We have engaged with the public like never before via a raft of engagement programs including competitions, exhibitions, awards and of course the inaugural Festival of Landscape Architecture in October 2014.

“As we approach AILA’s 50th anniversary in 2016, it is encouraging to see the organisation in such a strong position.”

AILA are asking members to recruit their colleagues and peers to join AILA through the campaign and is offering a 'Green Ticket' prize to the member who recruits the most number of new members.  The ticket will grant the bearer access to every AILA event in 2015.

The campaign finishes on 25 February 2015. For more information, visit www.aila.org.au/AreYouReady
