The Australian Institute of Architects invites applications from individuals willing to volunteer their time at the Australian Pavilion, The Pool during the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale.

The world’s most premier event for architecture, the 15th International Architecture Exhibition – la Biennale di Venezia – will see thousands of influential architects, designers, urban planners, developers and critics from over 60 countries coming together on the same platform to discuss the latest ideas and thinking for global architecture.

Taking place from 26th May to 27th November 2016, the Biennale is expected to attract over 220,000 visitors across the six-month period. The AIA is committed to a substantial Australian presence in 2016 with the Australian Pavilion showcasing the country’s architecture to the international architecture and design community.

With Australia’s new pavilion now open in Venice, the spotlight will be firmly on Australia and its architecture. Biennale volunteers will be given a unique opportunity to work with the Australian exhibition creative team and the Institute, and be a part of this important global event.

Pavilion attendants will be responsible for opening and closing the pavilion; greeting and assisting visitors; and maintaining the pavilion among other tasks.
