Finalists for the 2014 Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Building Services (ARBS) awards have been announced, ahead of the organisation’s seminar series in Melbourne on May 20-22.
The trade exhibition will be hosted at the Melbourne Convention Centre,and will feature keynote speakers across the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and building services industries.
The ABRS awards will run adjacent to the seminar series, with 17 finalists shortlisted across a variety of categories designed to encompass the ABRS industries.
These include the Young Achiever, Outstanding Service and Maintenance Provider, Product Excellence, Refrigeration Project Excellence, HVAC Project Excellence and Outstanding Industry Education/Training awards.
The awards presentation dinner will be hosted by Shane Bourne – the Australian stand-up comedian and award winning actor and television host. Winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the Savoy Ballroom at the Grand Hyatt Hotel on Wednesday 21st May.
In addition to the awards presentation, five nominees will be inducted into the ARBS Hall of Fame, in recognition of their contribution to our industry.
The ARBS exhibition itself will showcase the latest products, technologies and services all together in the one location.
Held on May 20-22 at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, ARBS announced that the seminar series will include the following:
A panel discussion on the adaptability of buildings for climate change, with panellists including Professor Sue Roaf of Heriott-Watt University in the UK, Karl Mallon of ClimateWorks, Paul Stoller of Atelier Ten and Dave Collins of Synergetics
A Building Information Modelling (BIM) panel discussing the use of BIM from client, contractor, constructor and asset management perspectives
A “super panel” discussing standards, legislation, new refrigerants and other topical issues in refrigeration
Sessions on building tuning and control systems, Green Star – Performance in action, energy performance contracts and more.
