CRIS™, launched in March 2013, is a Commercial or Residential Insulation System that utilises aluminium bubble reflective insulation to provide unprecedented resistance values of up to R7.1.

The reflective insulation, made from reinforced foil laminate, is covered in a unique and patented Reflecta-Coat™ – the key element contributing to the longevity and durability of the product.

The only one of its kind in Australia, this coating works to protect the foil against corrosion, oxidisation and condensation, allowing it to last longer.

While the wastage and cut offs from producing the product can be reused in the manufacturing process, CRIS™ is made of recyclable components and materials. This is done by separating the foil from the plastic component and recycling in the correct manner.

At the same time, Green Insulation has found that reflective insulation products have a significant advantage over traditional fibre glass. As a multi layer system, CRIS™ is nine per cent more efficient than the traditional 3.2 bulk insulation.

Independently tested by an expert consulting engineer on building heating and cooling energy and insulation, the system has been shown to save up to 40 per cent in heating and cooling costs when installed correctly. This, in turn, lowers green house gas emissions and carbon footprints.

INITIATIVES

  • The reflective foil insulation is cleaner and easier to work with than traditional fibre glass because it has no harmful fibres. As such, there is no need for extra protection during installation. It also has a double scrim (a woven plastic mesh for safety and strength), which adds benefit to the end users
  • Backed by a 15 year manufacturer’s guarantee
  • The machineries used are custom designed to allow optimum size rolls to be manufactured, which effectively gives the end user more coverage and less wastage when installed correctly
  • Manufacturing processes are streamlined to use the optimal amount of raw materials. Because of inherent product properties and design, three times the amount of coverage can be achieved compared to traditional fibre glass insulation. This leads to a more efficient use of storage and less transportation
  • Faster and easier to install than traditional bulk insulation, thus decreasing labour time and costs
  • Currently undergoing GreenTag accreditation assessments
