The Hills Grammar School was founded in 1982 at Kenthurst, 30km north-west of Sydney CBD. Students enjoy a collegial ambience, most apparent in the easy conviviality between students and teachers. The school’s curriculum strives to be outward-looking and relevant to a changing world. Their emphasis lies in the provision of a broad, liberal education, a challenging academic program, diverse co-curricular opportunities, and a focus on knowing and developing the wellbeing of each child.

The Hills Grammar School has installed Bildspec Konnect double glazed operable walls between classrooms on their sprawling campus. Bildspec operable walls have an important part to play in providing an improved acoustic environment. They are often used to assist the creation of innovative, high-quality learning environments for students. Innovative learning environments offer flexibility and adaptability where teachers/lecturers can provide opportunities for student engagement.

Bildspec operable walls have aided The Hills Grammar School to create learning spaces that are adaptable to accommodate small or large groups, include learning centres with flexible spaces that allow students to use technology in a variety of settings, and provide opportunities to enhance skills in collaboration, communication, critical thinking, problem solving and creativity.

The glass walls allow maximum light transfer, creating an open, airy feeling in classrooms, which in turn provides an enhanced learning experience.

The glass operable walls at the school have a high acoustic rating of Rw46, which means learning spaces are not only flexible but also allow children to learn in a quiet yet robust, physical environment. This is achieved by greatly reducing external noise from entering each classroom.
