ASP Access Floors was engaged by the builder, MPA Projects Pty Ltd during the refurbishment of a commercial office tower in Sydney.

Located adjacent to the Barangaroo Precinct, the commercial tower at 275 Kent Street consisted of over 30 floors with 35,000 square metres of office space. The building upgrade was required to meet current 5 Star Green Star requirements.

The two-year refurbishment project was completed in 2018.

Access floor systems used in the refurbishment

While the existing T3 and T4 flooring systems from ASP Access Floors were reused, a new steel cementitious Ultrafix stringerless system with a 3.0Kn loading at 150mm FFH and a steel cementitious HPL rigid grid system with a 4.5kN loading at 1500mm FFH were installed.

The tower refurbishment created a combination of executive and standard open plan offices. ASP Access Floors met the Green Star requirements of the building by ensuring the use of appropriate sealants and adhesives in the project, in conjunction with low formaldehyde based laminate products on the HPL floor within the Comms Rooms.

Environmental Product Declaration

ASP Access Floors also provided the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) of their access floor system, which helped MPA meet their Green Star requirements. This was the first project where ASP provided their product’s EPD to clients.
