Leading Australian inventor of linear shower drainage systems, Stormtech has launched a new series of linear grates suitable for indoor as well as outdoor applications.

Created in collaboration with internationally renowned designer, Marc Newson, the new Stormtech architectural linear grates offer a fresh decorative solution for wet areas, incorporating Newson's signature tessellated hexagonal pattern in a choice of five finishes.

Stormtech invented the linear drain design to allow for a wider range of floor surfaces and flooring configurations than was possible with traditional centre wastes.

Stormtech’s new 65MND linear grates are ideal for both indoor and outdoor areas including bathrooms, balconies, courtyards, thresholds, pools, paved areas and driveways. It is also suitable for commercial environments such as hotels and restaurants where architectural aesthetics are a key consideration.

Stormtech managing director, Troy Creighton explains that the Marc Newson collaboration was a natural evolution for their business, broadening the perception of what was traditionally a purely functional fitting. In May, the Marc Newson designed grate was acknowledged at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York, receiving the ICFF Editors Award in the Kitchen and Bath category for best design.
