This was an extension for Fresenus Medical Care and was designed to include all new plant equipment. Knowing the hygiene requirements of a health and medical related environment, the flooring solution was required to be Clean Room Certified, Low VOC, hardwearing, slip-resistant and very easy to clean. A slip resistant, easy to clean floor ensures workers’ safety by minimising the chance of slipping while providing maximum cleanability of the floor. Given this, the flooring and its capabilities was an important design consideration.

Sika solution
After consulting with the builder, a decision was made as to which floor finishes would be best suited for the project. Sika's product recommendations were:
Sikafloor PurCem HB-22
The system consists of polyurethane/cement technology and is part of the Sikafloor PurCem system range. The Sikafloor PurCem HB-22 system is especially designed for areas exposed to harsh conditions.
Sikaflex 11 FC
The one-component advanced polyurethane, elastic joint sealant and adhesive.
