Safetyline Jalousie  installed louvre windows at the Trinity Catholic College located in Auburn, NSW and catering for students from years 7-12.

The design brief for the College’s sports hall included a requirement for good ventilation with the system also addressing safety and security concerns.

Louvre windows provided an ideal solution to ventilate the large sports hall space. Located high above the ground, the louvre windows are motorised and automatically controlled to open and close at set times of the day to allow maximum ventilation as well as remove warm air.

At night, the louvre windows also allow cool night air in, replacing the warmer air and reducing the internal temperature of the hall for the following day. Safetyline Jalousie’s impenetrable security system meant that the louvre windows could be left open without the threat of intruders.

However, with a variety of ball sports played inside the hall, there were concerns over the safety of the glass louvres. Safetyline Jalousie therefore installed the motorised louvre windows with an aluminium louvre bearer fitted across each blade. Toughened glass was also used on the louvres to reinforce them against the high flying balls.
