Louvre windows by Safetyline Jalousie were installed at the Ballarat Grammar Centennial Building to meet the sustainability requirements of the design brief.

A centre of learning excellence for Year 12 students, the Ballarat Grammar Centennial Building features an environmentally sustainable design and operating principles, with a particular focus on maximising natural light and ventilation.

Motorised louvre windows designed to open and close automatically depending on the ambient air temperature have been used throughout the project to ensure maximum use of cross-ventilation, and reduce reliance on air conditioning/ heating.

The controls for the louvre windows are integrated with a building management system, which also incorporates an energy monitoring system.

Safetyline Jalousie louvre windows also address security concerns with an impenetrable security system that allows them to remain open without fear of intruders all 24 hours of the day. The louvre window systems also feature weatherproof seals and a robust design.
