Bespoke Godfrey Hirst carpet graces runway for Alice McCall’s fashion show

    Godfrey Hirst Australia

Godfrey Hirst Australia was commissioned to create a bespoke carpet based on designer Alice McCall’s floral pattern for the runway at the 2017 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia show.

The London-born Australian designer, Alice McCall is celebrated in the fashion industry for her flirty, frilly and fun ensembles, with her creations stocked at over 160 speciality stores and boutiques in ten countries across the globe. Her latest, the Resort 2017-18 collection named ‘Bon Bon’ showcases silhouettes influenced by the 1940s and 80s.

The Godfrey Hirst design team was briefed to reproduce a beautiful Alice McCall floral pattern featuring the Bon Bon theme on carpet running the length of the modelling runway. The bespoke carpet was a riot of flowers in muted blues, apricot, rose and porcelain beige with sunny pops of lemon, edges of lilac and gold, all bordered in a deep ocean blue.

Godfrey Hirst produced the colourful and detailed floral design onto a two-metre wide cut pile carpet using their market leading Designer Jet technology. Featuring very few visible joins, the carpet is rated commercial extra heavy duty, making it the perfect surface for indoor public spaces.

Godfrey Hirst’s Australian-first Designer Jet capabilities allow designers to explore imaginative combinations of colour, pattern and design on cut pile and loop pile carpets. Completely Australian made, the Designer Jet commercial carpets require a shorter lead time enabling timely production turnaround and cost-effective bespoke designs. These carpets also feature amazing depth of colour, stain resistant finish and exceptional colourfast properties.
